“I fear , Lead Wizard , that there are perhaps too few of us left to do any real good ,”

Summary : Pretty much immediately following the events of the previous book “The Fifth Sorceress ” and things are not looking good . Sure , Tristan and Shailiha are reunited ( and it feels so good ) , but that’s about the only positive . Most of the wizards are dead or have turned traitor , Tristan is being hunted by own people for murder , and an old enemy of Wigg’s has come back to haunt him . Welcome back to the world of Blood and Stone with a plot that has our heros in constant danger , family ties both save and doom us , and a breathing prophecy . Blood magic is a real pain brother .
“In fact , in some ways I am not sure I have felt better . But what just occurred was an experience far beyond anything else in my life .”

Review : If you liked the first book you will probably like this one . The plot moves fairly quickly , it takes itself seriously , and the battles are written well . However , I don’t feel like the characters have changed much (which makes sense , it’s almost right after the first book) . Basically the same characters I liked before are good and the same ones I had a problem with I still have a problem with . There’s 2 new villains and they aren’t bad but they don’t have the same presence to them that the Sorceress’s did and our hero party get’s some new folks as well and at least one of them has a sad but well made backstory . If you liked the first book then read this one but definitley don’t start here if you want to join the franchise .
“I would rather die than carry the abomination of your seed within my womb .”
This would be when I would normally put forth my recommendations if you want similar material but I decided against it since I was basically just writing down the stuff I recommended for the first book… so reread that review if you need recommendations lol .
Lesson : In a world of Blood magic … make sure you know where your seed is .
