So I watched this movie for the first time yesterday in theaters and I’m just going to bullet point here.

Positives

• Good pace
• strong practical effects
• feels like an Evil Dead movie
• actors are believable

Negatives

• lack of love in the family ( half the Horror in an Evil Dead movie is being forced to dismember people you care about and this movie doesn’t really have the emotional connection for that , in fact most of the family feels like they deserve the death)
• annoying soundtrack

Overall , I liked it but it feels like the weakest movie in the series . I want to emphasize that the movie feeling weak compared to the others in the series doesn’t make it bad , Evil Dead is my favorite horror franchise after all , it just means for now I can’t put it above any of the previous entries . When it comes out on DVD I’ll probably check it out again .
