“You want a divorce , you can have a divorce . Throw it all away , why not ? Only go do the alligator somewhere else . Get out of here .”

Summary : Let’s meet Edgar Freemantle . He is a happily married man working in construction until an unfortunate accident takes off one of his arms and damages his brain . Now he’s divorced , has anger management issues , and is contemplating suicide . he ends up listening to his therapist and travels down to the Duma Key in Florida and picks up painting . Things start to improve for him as his paintings are really good , but some of them are a bit creepy , and what’s this ? Turns out these paintings just might be able to heal wounds … and take lives .
“Nah , the elves . They come in the night . Cobble my shoes , draw the occasional picture . “

Review : This is a surprisingly comfortable feeling Stephen King novel . That’s not to say it doesn’t have scares , they’re a few good ones , but by King’s standards the book is pretty tame . The concept is interesting , the characters are likable , and everything feels believable enough . I wouldn’t put it amongst my favorite King novels but it’s a good read . Check it out if you have the time .
“That would be something to paint, wouldn’t it ? A ghost-ship on dry land.”
