Summary : A poet named Rydra Wong with a history in cryptography set in a dark future is tasked by the government to decipher a code by the enemy which is referred to as “Babel-17” . One thing she learns quickly is that it’s not a code but instead a language . The next thing she believes she knows when and where the next attack from the Invaders will begin . She gathers up a crew which consists of wrestlers , veterans , and even ghosts to confront the issue and possibly learn the language .

Review : I think this is one of the most original science fiction novels I’ve ever read . I’m so glad that I decided to start this site to discover novels like this . I mean , this was published in the 60’s , has a poet as a spaceship captain , wrestlers as pilots , and ghosts as part of the crew , while also diving into the importance of language and the mindsets developed around them . This book is a trip , but a fun one . This is for the science fiction fan looking for a little change up . Go get it folks !
