What I’ve Been Reading : Well I just got a short story collection called ” Classic Monsters Unleashed ” with a bunch of big name authors featuring their takes on … classic monsters , should’ve seen that coming . Also been reading a manga series called ” Deadman Wonderland ” , basically a group of prisoners with blood magic are put in a sort of fight club to entertain people visiting the prison . If that’s not fucked up enough , the protagonist of the story is completely innocent of the crime he was locked up for . I’m about 2/3’s of the way through the series and it’s pretty darn good . I’ve got a couple of stories recommended to me by fantasy fans to check out so I’ll get to those eventually .

What I’ve Been Watching : There hasn’t been any new series I’ve been interested in seeing so I’m going back and checking out some classic series that I missed out on due to either time or just ignorance of them on my part . One of those series being the anime ” Fate/Stay Night ” . A series that has a bunch of mages in modern day Japan summoning epic spirits to fight each other in a battle royale type deal . For the most part the series is good but I gotta admit the protagonist’s stubbornness seems to me to be exaggerated to an extent that it’s annoying instead of inspiring .

What I’ve Been Playing : I’ve been playing a dungeon crawler RPG named ” Dungeon Travelers 2 : The Royal Library & The Monster Seal ” . The game basically has you lead a squad of magical girls through various dungeons and use them to fight various monsters . Is the game a deep thought provoking RPG ? No … but it’s fun and that’s all I really want out of a game .
