“A great criminal likes to keep a record of his crimes . I tell you that we might be murdered in our beds any night .”

Summary : Richard Wentworth ( The Spider ) saves a man from commiting suicide and ends up killing a card-sharp whom was a cheat . This was just the beginning in a much larger criminal conspiracy . Come follow the infamous detective as he deals with drunken reporters , foreign debt payments , murder , hooked hand sailors , pom pom singers , diamond dealers , assassination , deadly gas , swordfights , the mysterious Mr.X , and all while trying to keep his girl and his secret identity safe.
“I don’t want any of my finger prints around here in case I am forced to kill you .”

Review : Hey , this is the first book in the masked detective “The Spider” series and wow ! They started off swinging . I have read a few of these stories in the past and they’ve always been good but I wasn’t expecting it to start off that strong . If you want a fast paced crime thriller with some flair then I would highly recommend this .
“Because Richard Wentworth is so damned clever that I am afraid of him . Because you are the only person in the world who can deceive him . “
