Summary : Two kids get a bunch of special toys for Christmas but the girl is particularly enamored with a handmade Nutcracker . Soon when everyone else is asleep the girl notices the Nutcracker (as well as the other toys ) in a battle with mice ! One mouse in particular wears a crown . Wait , the toys are alive and they have beef with the mice royalty ? How did this happen ? You’ll have to read to find out .

Review : I decided to review them both because they are literally the same story written slightly differently . It’s a classic fantasy story geared towards children but with enough depth for adults to get something out of it too . Also this was the inspiration for “The Nutcracker” ballet which I am a huge fan of so I’m a little biased . Read it folks !
