Carnival by William W. Johnstone

Intro : “Carnival” by William W. Johnstone is a horror novel originally published in 1989 . I read this one in e-book form .

Summary: A haunted carnival moves into Holland , Nebraska . Now it’s up to the town’s mayor ( also named Holland ) to save the townspeople with a handful of allies ( one or two might be zombies ) . Come join us in this tale of ghosts , demons , zombies , rape , murder , revenge , freak shows , and maybe even … Satan ?

Review : I enjoyed this book . 7/10 we’ll say . Buy it at a discount or rent from the library . Better versions of this story can definitely be found though . In fact , I would recommend either ” Twilight Eyes ” by Dean Koontz or ” Something Wicked This Way Comes ” by Ray Bradbury .

Quote : ” Don’t think that we – and I am as much a freak as anyone else here – don’t find some enjoyment in watching the faces of those who ridicule us . Perverse is not something enjoyed only by those who think of themselves as normal .”
