” Blair Witch : The Secret Confession of Rustin Parr ” by D.A. Stern is a horror/mystery story originally published in 2000.
The description for this shall be brief as the title of this book is essentially the plot . The first part of the book is set in the modern day revolving around our main character , a sorta journalist whom is also the author of the novel , trying to get information to help get an acquaintance of his ( a former priest ) off the hook for potential murder or to find out the motivation for the murder . The second half of the book is basically the author reading the journal of the former priest and getting an in depth look at the situation in Burkittsville , Maryland , 1941 when a man named Rustin Parr allegedly murdered seven children.
Let us deal with the obvious here . The book is a tie in with the ” Blair Witch ” series and as a tie in it works really well . It’s an interesting murder mystery with occult tones all over . I would say it’s better than the first movie in lore development and plot but not as strong in the atmosphere department . If you’re looking for a quick murder mystery or are a fan of the ” Blair Witch ” series then give it a shot .
