” Eventually , I will . But for now I give you hope and the brightness of faith and the laughter of my mother for an hour .”
Summary : This is the memoir of the famous author of “The Exorcist” , William Peter Blatty . For the most part , it’s a tribute to his mother and her influence on his life . Mixed throughout are charming stories like his mom rigging a beautiful baby pageant so that William can win , how he got the nickname Daisy , his brother’s experiences in the military , and the struggles a mother whom can hardly speak English during the Great Depression raising 5 kids by herself . Come read about the life experiences that shaped one of the best writers to ever exist .
“Did they bury her with her broom ?”
Review : I’ve always found nonfiction hard to review . Even more so autobiographies . It would be a pain to tell someone their life story is boring . Thankfully , that is not the case here . William Peter Blatty couldn’t write a bad story if he tried . If you want a heart warming story about a boy and his mother then check it out .
“One was an aura of goodness about her that made you want to help her if you possibly could .”
