Summary : Imagine a world where suburban house wives universally help their husbands out through witchcraft . Now imagine that one of their husbands was a strict rationalist and treated people who believe in witchcraft as primitives . Tansy Saylor finds herself in this position as her husband discovers her practices and convinces her to give them up . Since she gave them up , her husband faces all sorts of issues such as losing a promotion , allegations of sexual assault on a student , and even murder . What are they to do , after all , this could cost them a soul .

Review : I’ve found myself warming up to witchcraft stories over the years and it’s because of books like this . At every page I found myself worrying about what would happen next . The book does a good job of conveying the danger the protagonist put his wife and himself in by relying too much on modern thinking and not taking seriously the fears of past generations .

“But I have the feeling that what you’re worrying about goes much deeper than that . Yesterday and today I’ve even felt that you want to turn to me for help , and somehow didn’t dare .”
