Summary : Let’s meet Kincar s’Rud . He is about to become a tribal leader but there’s a bit of a complication . Turns out he is related to the Star Lords which were a group of technologically advanced aliens who used to help them out but then abandoned the natives . As you can imagine it left a bad taste in the locals mouths and they aren’t too keen on letting someone related to them ruling . So Kincar hightails it outta there in order to avoid causing a civil war and he actually stumbles upon the last of the Star Lord’s remaining and decides to join them in their travel to a gate that sends them to a parallel universe . Only they end up in a universe with evil versions of themselves and they have to band with the locals there to take them down . Out of the frying pan into a slightly different frying pan am I right guys ?

Review : This is either the fourth or fifth story I’ve read by Andre Norton and I got to say that she is quickly becoming a dependable comfort read for me . Her formula always seems to say ” relax , I’ll take it from here .” . I believe I can pick up a random book by her and no matter which one it is , it’ll be good . “Star Gate” has an otherworldly feel to it but the novel is written in such a way as to make everything easy to comprehend . Get it if you can !
