Story 17 – Uncle Otto’s Truck

Summary : Creepy trucks , crazy uncles , and murder .
Story 18 – Morning Deliveries ( Milkman # 1 )

Summary : A milk man who delivers more than just milk .
Story 19 – Big Wheels : A Tale of the Laundry Game ( Milkman # 2 )
“Rocky and Leo , both drunk as the last words of creation , cruised down Culver Street and then out along Balfour Avenue toward Crescent .”
Summary : A sequel to the previous story with two drunks .
Story 20 – Gramma
“You’ll be all right . Gramma , too .”
Summary : A boy named George is left to take care of his grandma for a bit and things go wrong quickly .
Story 21 – The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet
“Madness is a flexible bullet .”
Summary : A group of people discuss the suicide of a young author .
Story 22 – The Reach
” Gram , What’s the Reach ? “
Summary : A grandma that talks to ghosts tells her grandkids what she remembers .
Review : Like almost every short story collection some stories are definitely better than others . Some I didn’t like at all( Here There Be Tygers , Mrs Todd’s Shortcut , The Monkey ) but there’s a lot I would consider classics ( The Mist , The Jaunt , The Raft , Beachworld , Survivor Type ) and the rest are okay . I would recommend it overall , just don’t try to read them all at once .
