“Well , your most prominent figure seems to be a figure of wood ; so I must beg you to restrain an imagination which , having no brains , you have no right to exercise , “

Summary : Let us meet a young boy named Tippetarius but you can just use the Tip if you want to . Anyways , this boy was raised by a freaky magic woman named Mombi and one day she threatens to turn him into a statue . Tip doesn’t think that’ll be much fun and he leaves with his newly living friend Jack Pumpkin head . They decide to head out to the Emerald City ( which is currently ruled by the Scarecrow from the first book ) and boy , do they pick the wrong time . You see there is a revolution going about , an army of woman led by General Jinjur overthrow the Scarecrow , so he and Tip’s crew (which now has a living Saw-horse and a flying couch ) team up with the Tin Woodsman (Nick Chopper is his name apparently ) and a thoroughly educated Wobble – Bug and Glinda to seek out the true rightful ruler of Emerald City , a princess named Ozma .
“Nothing can resist your kind heart and your sharp axe .”

Review : You know , I think I like this book better than the first . Maybe it’s just me being too familiar with the first story but the second book feels special . It does an excellent job of building off the first novel , showing us some of our old favorites and introducing some fun new characters . The plot is nice and silly , the pace is upbeat , and the dialogue is witty as hell . Go get it , you can get it for under a dollar and some websites even have it for free .
“I sympathize with you in every respect . But since we cannot count seventeen by twos , sympathy is all you are liable to get . “
