Summary : One day something strange happened in the small village of Midwich . You see a U.F.O. is seen in the area and it caused everyone within the village grounds has fallen asleep . It’s only for a few days of course but that’s not where the weird stuff ends . Apparently all the woman in the village that are capable turn out to be pregnant and when the babies are born they all look the same with gold eyes and pseudo-blond hair . The real problem is that the kids can influence people and objects with their minds and they aren’t just using it for good if you know what I mean . I doubt these kids come in peace .

Review : Well I can see why this novel is a classic . It’s a subtle take on the alien invasion story that does bring forth ethical questions that feel just as important today as it was back then . At times it gets a little stuck in exposition but that was pretty common back in the day for science fiction novels and the characters that deliver the exposition tend to be likable enough to make it bearable . If you like alien invasion stories , subtle horror , or even Cold War thrillers then check it out !
