Summary : Well the title is basically the summary . From the beginning we know Krypton is doomed , we just aren’t sure how till the end cause everything that can happen does . Some things that happen or about to include the sun going supernova , Jor-El gets married , planet wide earthquakes due to an unstable planet core , Brainiac abducts a whole city , Jor-El gets a message from a dying Mars , a visiting alien gets blown up , Zod causes a civil war , a giant meteroite is headed toward Krypton , 15 weapons that destroyed a moon is accidentally set off , and the Phantom Zone is created .

Review : This is probably the best version of the ” Superman ” origin story . Kevin J. Anderson is one of the best science fiction authors and he was the right guy for telling this story . If you’re a science fiction , comic book , or apocalypse fan I would recommend it .

As it sinks to the core , the singularity will drain more and more energy from the mantle . When it reaches the critical point , the opening into the Phantom Zone will expand geometrically , like a huge hungry mouth . It will swallow the entire core of Krypton instantaneously , leaving a great void . The remaining matter will suddenly collapse inwards and the shockwaves will rebound . The whole planet will be blown apart . ” p.441
